A Rwandan truck accident in Rukiga District, southwestern Uganda, has left one person injured after the vehicle crashed into a house and three kiosks. The accident occurred on Sunday, January 19, at 12:35 PM in Rwabahazi Cell along the Ntungamo-Kabale highway.

According to Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Mr. Elly Maate, the crash involved a white Mercedes Benz Actros with Rwandan registration number RAG 876S/RL 6264. The truck was traveling from Ntungamo toward Kigali, Rwanda, when the driver lost control at a sharp corner, veered off the road, and crashed into the structures.

Driver and Victim Details

The truck was being driven by Mr. Yves Rutagambwa, a 27-year-old Rwandan resident of Kibagaba Cell, Kasaba Akarere Sub-county, Kasabo District, Kigali. The victim, identified as Samuel, 29, is a resident of Rwabahazi Cell, Muhanga Town Council, Rukiga District.

Police reports indicate that the accident also caused damage to several Celtel mobile network wooden poles along the highway.
